Q: Why do "the liberals" get away with so much these days?
A: Because "conservatives" who should know better have given up on Liberty - and therefore on God, who provides it.
Conservatives therefore have no more claim to being "on God's side" than their avowed enemies.
In fact, it is conservatives who are more to blame for Liberty's decline In America than "liberals" because nobody expects liberals to defend individual Liberty (i.e., freedom tempered with individual responsibility). Liberals are collectivists and moral relativists. We all know that.
So that leaves "conservatives" as the only hope for America - but they went AWOL a long, long time ago, busily, even frantically, sacrificing Liberty at the altar of "national security". So how are they different from liberals, beyond continuing to use references to the Constitution and to our "God-given rights" whenever liberals overstep their boundaries but never when "conservative" candidates and office holders do?
They are not.
The effect of both is the same. Freedom gets curtailed and rationed by government edict. The only differences lie in the rationalizations each flip side of the same coin uses to make its case to the public, but the EFFECT is always the same.
